To trace the millennia-long history of the site and pay tribute to the work carried out by the Franco-Egyptian Center for the Study of the Temple of Karnak over the past fifty years, this exhibition follows a deliberately scattered and fragmentary narrative. Images from the Center's photographic archives, as well as contemporary productions, are dispersed throughout the Karnak temple. In this open-air exhibition space, the archival photographs sit alongside the present, creating a before-and-after dynamic that accompanies the viewer’s journey through the temple. With images mounted on frames attached to the walls, banners suspended from scaffolding, and photographs from both past and present, this exhibition is a tribute to the fifty years of work done by the C.F.E.E.T.K., and to the ongoing efforts for the years to come.

Pour retracer l’histoire multi millénaire du site et rendre hommage au travail effectué au Centre Franco-Egyptien d'Etudes du Temple de Karnak depuis cinquante ans, cette exposition suit une trame volontairement éparse et fragmentaire. Des images issues des archives photographiques du centre, mais également des images de production contemporaine, sont dispersées dans le temple de Karnak. Sorte de centre d’exposition à ciel ouvert, les archives photographiques côtoient le présent, créant ainsi un mouvement d’avant - après accompagnant la déambulation du spectateur dans son cheminement à l'intérieur du temple. Images sur châssis apposées aux murs, bâches suspendues sur échafaudage, images d’hier et d’aujourd’hui, cette exposition se veut un hommage rendu au travail effectué depuis 50 ans par le C.F.E.E.T.K et à l'ouvrage toujours en cours pour les années à venir.
