SANS TITRE (ATLAS) - 2019 / 2020

Projet réalisé au laboratoire INSERM de Tours, Imagerie et Cerveau (URM 1253). Résidence réalisée dans le cadre de la huitième édition du partenariat INSERM - ENSP, La Recherche de l’Art.Images scientifiques contemporaines et images d'archives scientifiques se confrontent, séparées par les spirales métalliques visées au socle. D'une tractographie contemporaine à une image d'archive issue d'un atlas d'anatomie japonais de 1742, ces images présentées en diptyque prennent un sens nouveau et nous questionnent sur la part de fiction, d'irréalisme et d'esthétique dans la culture visuelle scientifique.

Project developed at the INSERM laboratory in Tours (URM 1253) in partnership with the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research and the French National School of Photography (ENSP, Arles).

Contemporary scientific images and images from scientific archives confront each other, separated by the metal spirals afixed to the supporting structure. From a contemporary tractography to an archive image from a Japanese anatomy atlas of 1742, these images presented as diptychs take on a new meaning and question us about fiction, unrealism and aesthetics in the scientific visual culture.
